Celia Ramsay
Celia Ramsay, Kent's wife, was born in Los Angeles. Her family later moved to northern California where she attended middle and high school in Sunnyvale, just as it was on the cusp of becoming Silicon Valley. She began singing as a child, received classical vocal training in her teens, and participated in choral, solo and madrigal ensemble. After high school she traveled to Scotland, France, England and Holland, finally settling in California to do an apprenticeship in letterpress printing with a well-known Berkeley book artist. She then attended UC Berkeley where she majored in rhetoric.
Celia's responsibilities at the winery include accounting, out-of-state compliance, working with the TTB on label approvals, and handling donation requests.
Celia’s artistic fires still burn ardently; she is a professional Contra Dance caller and singer with her first CD due out in time for Christmas. She also enjoys teaching book arts and dance to kids, spinning yarn for living-history programs, and confesses to being a “knit-aholic”. She recently joined the board of directors for The California Revels, a performance group based in Oakland. (For more information on California Revels, please visit www.calrevels.org.) Celia and Kent have ramped up their globetrotting since the couple's two children recently fledged the nest.
