One thing I've discovered--while there aren't many -ay Ramsays in the US (more of them on the East Coast, than the West) in Scotland we're like "Smith". I'm pretty clear on my family tree, and while I'm sure we are likely related somewhere far back, my twig on the Ramsay family tree is pretty limited.
Interestingly, my husband's name is like "Smith" in Denmark. He has little or no Danish in him--and I've asked his aunt for the full story to post, soon.
